A report of a sexual assault in June led to the arrests of an Upstate couple who deputies said have a long history of sexual abuse involving juveniles, and at least in one case, a dog, according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said a woman came to the Sheriff’s Office in June to report a possible sexual assault that happened a year ago. Deputies said that report led to an investigation that uncovered crimes dating back to 2003.
The investigation led to the arrest of 38-year-old James Dimsdale and 29-year-old Lisa Winkler.
Deputies said between 2003 and 2012 the couple, who were married for a period of time, engaged in illegal sexual conduct juveniles.
They said Winkler engaged in sexual conduct with one of the juveniles and Dimsdale continued to have sexual relations with that juvenile and another minor.
Deputies said Dimsdale videotaped some of the incidents and also videotaped himself having sexual relations with a dog.
Dimsdale is charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor, criminal sexual conduct, buggery and first degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Winkler is charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
